SASCA would like to congratulate SASCA participant and MSc. candidate, Steffi Meyer, for her poster presentation at YOUMARES 5 – convention for young marine scientists and engineers [http://www.youmares.net/]. The conference was held in Stralsund, Germany, September 10-12th 2014 and featured the general topic of “Opportunities and Solutions – Research For Our Changing Oceans”.
Steffi presented a poster on her ongoing Master’s thesis work, “Evaluating the Impact of Scallop (Argopecten purpuratus) Cultivation on the Benthic Infaunal Community in Sechura Bay, Peru”. The poster was rewarded the 3rd place prize at the conference, being elected by the event’s participants. The work forms an important part of the SASCA project by providing valuable information on the ecological impacts of scallop culture in Sechura Bay.
